A nice quote from a recent Dilbert cartoon about progress: “Progress is difficult to measure in the software realm. You could measure the lines of code [..], but that would reward inefficiency”. It is hard to measure real progress, isn’t it? If you measure the lines of code, you reward reward inefficiency. If you measure the time until completion, you reward easily technical debt.
